Dates: 1st – 4th June
One of the highlight events of the year for Ireland’s capital city is the Tall Ships Festival which takes place over the June bank holiday, 1st – 4th June. It’s hard to believe that it’s 6 years since the last major tall ships event came to Dublin, with 1 million plus visitors to the Dublin Port area. This festival regularly attracts tall ships, big and small, from all over the world and in 2018 will become host to a quite spectacular event, The Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta. The participant ships will moor on the River Liffey and remain in situ for the duration of the festival allowing members of the public the opportunity to explore these amazing ships. To date, six ships have confirmed their attendance for this year’s festival. They include the: Pelican of London, Atyla, Morgenster, Maybe, STS Lord Nelson and Belem.
Irish Village Markets will be involved once again this year, providing an international street food market to ensure the hungry sailors and visitors are well fed for the event. From Dublin, the tall ships will race south for the finale of the Three Festivals Regatta in Bordeaux, France.
Further details on the event will be posted here shortly…
