Environmental considerations are playing an increasing role in how we conduct our operations.

In 2019 we participated in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council funded GreenSave Programme to become an environmentally certified company. This involved working with Ecomerit to identify ways to improve our environmental performance, reduce costs and enhance our standing as an environmentally responsible company. We were delighted to have our achievements recognised by being Highly Commended in the Green Business category of the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber’s County Business Awards 2022

We switched our vendors over to compostable packaging and as part of our journey, switched our warehouse lighting over to LED and abolished the use of single use plastic at all of our markets and events. As you can see from the graphs below, we significantly reduced our carbon footprint.

Our aim is to minimise waste, CO2, water and energy usage, which can in turn improve our business processes, staff morale, customer engagement and risk management.
